For third Level Study, there are two options available:
- 1 Hour Option - A one to one meeting with the student. Questionnaire to be completed and returned in advance of the meeting. The area of focus for the meeting will be at the students request.
- 3 Hours - An initial one to one meeting with the student to discuss information relevant to a pre completed questionnaire. An in person psychometric test undertaken. Results to be examined together alongside other relevant information that is applicable to their third level application. This session concludes with a discussion around the findings with both the student and their parent/guardian.

School Talks
Student Presentation - Getting Career Focused Before Secondary School
This talk is delivered to 6th and/or 5th Class pupils in their primary school. Areas to be discussed during this talk include: what the role of a Guidance Counsellor is in secondary school, what a student support team is and to make them aware of how they might access additional support if they need it in school. The talk will also highlight to them the importance of the end game of school – building a career and start them thinking about their future selves beyond secondary. As part of this, subject choice will be discussed.
The final part of this presentation to students will be to discuss and breakdown the use of psychometric tests in secondary school. They will likely encounter these during their ‘entrance exams’. In practical terms we will discuss the do’s and don’ts of how to approach this first formal encounter with their potential new school.
Career Guidance Primary School Programme
This is a bespoke programme built in partnership with school management, staff, students and parents to weave a career focus into school life. This will help students to become more aware of their future potential and be ready to undertake opportunities that arise in both primary and secondary school.
